RE: OK Reedy Racers, Lets See Those Racers!!!
CP's right, I swear at them... I remember vividly the amount of time we spent standing around waiting on Flyswatter's AP .09 to come up enough in rpm's to fly. It never did. Not only that, it was HOT! Strangely enough, recently a brand new Norvel AME did the same thing. Larry recognized the symptoms in a post and after some brief conversation with FS, fixed the engine for him. Mainly, it seems the crankshaft was binding. He chucked it up in a lathe and sanded a tiny amount of material out of the middle. The charge? Free! The result? Well, no point in getting all mushy, all I'm going to say is "Love you man!"[sm=lol.gif]
The AME runs absolutely perfect now, and I wonder if that would have fixed the AP .09. Now, did any of us learn a lesson here? Don't buy engines from Flyswatter!

I'll have to take a better look at it and see about the rubbing situation, but I know a guy that used to race and does all of that kind of stuff to tweak the stock kinks out of an ordinary engine and turn it into a monster. Hopefully there wont be a promblem though.

Willfly, don't worry too much. You've got the engine, so just run it. I wouldn't let doomsayers like myself stop you from at least trying it. It's likely going to be a good engine. The odds are about even from what I've seen.
