The prop. is a vintage 'SCAMPER', I guess and I hope, I should have a video clip of this carb. available, soon.
I would recommend saving that prop as a collectable. I fired up an engine with one a couple of years ago and the lovely clear prop shattered after a few seconds of running.

I put the AP carb on the SureStart and it stuck out 5/8" beyond the rear of the grey plastic plate. How did you get the carb in there 'so short'? I used the plastic 'tube' the NVA goes in, covered that with a black piece of automotive rubber hose, right over the NVA hole, and plugged the carb into the black rubber. Then I shortened the black rubber until the carb hit the grey plastic tube near where the NVA goes through. No zip ties or hose clamps; just tight rubber hose. But the carb is still 5/8" out behind the engine mount screw holes. I built a test stand to run it. It can be done with a long motor mount stand-off... longer than the SS stand-off for the stock engine. I ran four 3/4 oz. tanks of fuel through it, and it throttles up and down pretty good, IMO. I need to remount it and get some tach readings.
I took it off so I could clean and run an engine for a kid from the 4H group here. Got two of his engines started and he was thrilled. Then I let him fly the CL 'Yellow Peril".... which made 1/2 a lap and the 'landing' busted the right wing into 15 pieces!! But it doesn't count as a "CRASH" because he didn't break the prop! ha ha

I make the carb. body from a small piece of aluminum bar stock, so that, it can fit inside the engine plastic back plate and cut the plastic tube that the NVA goes in then press fit the new carb.(see picture), simple, isn't it? I also link to the carb. testing video clip.

This is my latest version carb. design for SS, which has more compact and relaible throttle responsive.
Any chance you could do a pictorial or video on how you retrofitted that throttle?????

Please !

That design is clever!. The needle valve assembly has a venturi or carb throat body in the area of the fuel opening. The whole assembly including the needle valve rotates. Very trick!

I feel that, if Cox had thought of that, all our Cox motors would have been throttled a long time ago.

Congratulations on a very elegant design.

I’m living in Bangkok, Thailand. Actually, I do sell Cox .049 SS engine locally and offer a carb., completely installation, as an optional to customer, who need it with us$ 7.50 on top of the engine cost (us$13.50 for Die Cast.), because, I have to use the engine’s fuel spray bar and needle valve to install at the carb.
If, you prefer to get one, you can, either purchase a complete set of assembled engine with carb. at us$ 21 (~us$8 for registered mail 14-21d., read time ) or just only an assembled Throttle with engine back plate, ready to install on your engine by replace the existing back plate, directly (need NV. and Reed valve assy’ from your existing engine), it will cost ~ us$9 and us$4 for registered mail
Right now, I have 3 complete sets of engine with carb., ready to ship, if you would like.
I prefer paypal, payment to my accnt. at ‘divaveja@hotmail.com’
Please email me, if, you would like to have more detail info. Thanks.

I eMailed Joe a request for a Die Cast .049 with carb'.
It arrived quickly and looks to be just what I required. It came with clear instructions on tuning and running.
I haven't been able to get around to testing it yet, I have mobility problems and half the household equipment decided to go on the fritz.
Just to add to the problems we have had to have a total new central heating system. MY WIFE HAS FOUND MY MODEL ROOM.
