Default Do you know this needle valve?

Anybody recognize these needle valves? I think they were sold in packages by perfect.

Any ideas as to what they fit? And what the little eyelet was for? It has a flexible section- even makes that BBBRRRRIIINNGG noise like a door stopper when you pluck it!

The spray bar for these was a piece of threaded brass (threaded the whole length) with Two brass nuts. It had Two "jets " drilled in it opposite each other (sometimes that varied). Because of it's design, it was considered a universal needlevalve assembly. The little ear was to "locate" the knob away from the prop arc. This was done by screwing the ear on the model, or as some have done(like me) you can remove a upper backplate screw on the engine and mount it there, either left or right.

I have never lost my desire to "pluck" a door stop spring, It still makes me smile.

Those were known to repeatedly bounce off the prop if you didn't connect them to something. You only do that once! [&o]

Those type needles fit some old McCoys, Wen Mac, Wasp & Atwoods (I think). They usually have a spring around them, something like a ball-point pen spring, to help keep your setting.

The company also made them to fit other engines like the OK Cubs that use threads on the outside of the spraybar.

George...I did that...ONCE...[:@]
A Fox .15 w/ a looonnng spring type extension...the eyelet thingie wasn't attached to anything...(hey, what did I know? )
Got the engine running quite well, and then let go of the N.V. and...[X(]

That was my 1st "big" engine after a few Cox .049's...
It was the early 70's, and I was about 13, and the LHS wasn't quite as "local" as I would have liked...especially since I had to ride my bike back there to buy another prop...
