Awe man! And I didn't know about this deal when I just bought my 4 pack of Snap Starters! Oh well, maybe I'll get it on my next purchase. :-) Good luck in your endeavor Bernie and Xena and thanks for keeping a lot of fond memories as well as current enjoyment alive for a lot of us!

Any chance that the warrior princess might be considering rereleasing some of the classic Cox R/C aircraft models in the future?
The Kyosho RF-5 Sportavia that Cox used to have the exclusive on here in the US is screaming to be released again.......

Thomas,
Problem is that, in order to be cost effective, one would have to make a run of several thousand. And to sell a few thousand of the beasts....
So, the short answer being "probably not in the near future".

The Sportavia was totally re-designed and retooled in 2008 at Estes. The product is complete, and un-marketed. Too bad. One of my sentimental favorites too.

Unfortunately, in my mind, any type of future does not seem to holdtoo many more1/2Aer'sunlessthere is majorshift from electric to glow.More 1/2Aer's creates more demand, and without demand, supply will notgo up. Of course, thisisn't something that we all already know.

Just to clarify - it was redesigned from the ground up, though it is very similar to the original. The new one is electric only - no glow option was provided for, though there is space in the firewall/cowl area for a glow install.

RE: New source for Cox products
Which is probably why we never got connected with the product. We let Cox know that we were only interested in glow items.

You're right about the original Sportavia, but I bet that tooling is long gone. I say that in ignorance however, as we never sought it out. The new version is improved in several ways though - insert-molded aluminum spar tube and steel wing joiner rod, an actual airfoil and washout in the wing, dedicated electric front end design (designed around inexpensive brushless, but ended up being geared/brushed ... no comment on that), lighter (!).

Wow awesome site Bernie. I really like the glow plug in the head idea. I havent flown a cox airplane in about 30 years With the advent of micro rc it give me some cool ideas. When I come up with a fuse I'll put in an order for sure. I think the 049 would be perfect for a glider

I can thoroughly recommend Xenalook. made several purchase from them and received in the UK in 3 to 4 days. Better than a lot of UK suppliers. Will certainly use again when I need engines or spares.

Cox still has pallets of items for electric flight. If there is anything specific that anyone is interested in, please let us know and we can consider aquiring such.
