RE: Half A NOT gender specific!
The girls do show up from time to time and when they do they often do well if they set their minds to it.
But even in this age the roles of the two sexes are set pretty early. About the only historically male dominated field I've seen that is seeing equalization is the computer admin and software writing industry.
There's just not that many girls that pick up an intrest in flying the small stuff.

The winner of the most prestigous AMA Fast Combat event, "The Bladder Grabber", [usually sponsored with $10,000 worth of Bob Carver stereo equipment]......in 2007....was a girl.
Melissa Huber, a local girl.
I flew her once....almost beat her . She just waits for ya to do something dumb....then ZAP!
That's about when I decided it was time to hang 'em up.

Skaliwag, there was a girl named Crystal King [IIRC] who that might have been. There was also Svetlana Filipova from the USSR who was pretty active back then. She came over here [IIRC] to compete at a AMA Nats?
My wife can fly a PAW .15 powered WARLORD pretty good. She looks like she is taking a pitbull for a walk.

Because she beat you or because you couldn't come to terms with having done something dumb? [sm=wink_smile.gif]

Bruce, by this time there was quite a few whippersnappers coming of age, all the sons and this 1 daughter of guys I used to be able to reel in. The difference is quickness, agility and eye sight. To the kids whose Dads do all the work, the sport is just like a video game to them.

The girl flying the controline combat airplane at Maumelle was Crystal King, also flew at the Nats. I believe she was from Arkadelphia, Ark.
