Default Little Birdie 10

Well it may not be 1/2a but, only the folks in this forum could appreciate it. It was my $20 kit I got from a swap which I thought was a great deal. Not a bad kit old die crush. very easy build if you happen to came across one grab it!

Its a Birdie 10
Engine .15XLS
Servos HS 81
AUW 2.3 lbs

Very nice! It does look like it would be a fun build without any problems.

Nice job on a great plane. I wish Dave would add the plans to that and the 1/2a one to his site. Joe realy never designed anything that didn't fly great.

Didn't he design the RCM trainer? That was the worst trainer ever, it flew like a pattern plane.

I had a Drity Birdy 60, my all time favorite nitro plane.

I have one of those kits, and I'm sure I have the plans scanned already.

I thought Cox owned the title of worst trainers ever!

The Cox trainers were flimsy and un-trimmable messes.

This Birdie is a design that looks like would work well at any size...just bump up the engine bay to match your engine and apply that same multiplier to the rest of the plane.

A nice lookin plane, bet it flys great as well!

The Birdy is a fav in all the sizes, there was a RTF kit, one with a foam wing. The Global 10 version is all built up from what I know, although it could have other options out there.

Never can see to many of this one.

The Baby Birdie is my all time favorite.. It was my first aileron model that looked like an airplane.

First pic is the Baby, Had a Cox .09 Medalion for propulsion.

The blue Navy coloured bird was my 10. This one had a K&B .20 and you had to land it Hot or would Tip and Snap. I think it ended up a little too "Porkie"

I have a Baby, a 10 and a 40 Kit living under my workshop bench

skaliwag;

That red one is the only one I have seen without the "normal" trike gear! The tail setup on the blue model has some mods, how effective is the rudder for snaps and spins?

Both are nice looking models!

Remby... The Baby doesn't come with landing gear. I made some thing up and it was held on with the rubber bands.

The Blue one was over- weight with the K&B 20 on the front and didn't fly too good. I made a bigger Hershey Bar wing for it and flew better. A friend ended up with it. I think I traded a pair of G-Mark .061's .

iflyg450 .... Sorry .... Not for sale at this time...

This project has motivated me to start thinking about a .074 version. I built the 1/2A version many years ago and it was one of the greatest kits. The plane has "fancy looks" without being a fancy build.

Just got back from the field, it flew like a dream. The Mag 15 gave PLENTY OF POWER, it had all the vertical I could stand. Flew the pattern great. A smaller 074 would be great. Now I want to build a 40 or 60 size!

iflyg450;

Glad to hear it flew well, it really looks like a good one.

Is the gear fixed, or small retracts?

Fixed gear, our field is a bit rough for retracts

One of these buggers sold on the PayPal affiliate site
(AKAe-bay)* last night for....
$455
2 guys wanted it REAL BAD.

Old GATAFISH must be very pleased.

* I say "affiliate" because I think I heard PayPal brings in more money than the auction site now?
Correction: No, not more money, but growing and probably more profitable.
