Scratch built Jr Champ modified. Engine big enough???
6 Attachment(s)
I am scratch building a Livewire Jr Champ, cutting all the pieces by hand. Everything basically built as per plans (wingspan 35" and length 24") except I widened the fuselage by 3/4" wider at the nose, 1/2" wider at the saddle area, and 3/8" wider aft fuselage. And I made it into a tricycle gear instead of taildragger.
It has a AMA10 .061 that I am wondering if it would be too small to power it adequately. The plans call for a .049 engine. With the widened fuselage I am wondering if a .09 or .10 would be best. Please advise.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978302http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978303http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978304http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978305http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978306http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978307 |
I think you have a nice model that will fly quite well on the .061 Norvel.. The Champ isn't an Acrobatic Championship Contender, looks odd doing Harriers.

Here's the big brother --- should be able to scale to what size you need.
