To my 1/2A friends here
I won't be looking here very often anymore. Catch me at another "group" because if I want to see advertising, I'll not log in as a member, or I'll watch TV. Love. Peace. And chicken grease. See you at a fly-in somewhere I hope. Bye bye RCU.

Hollis, I don't condone this but I understand it....!
[Actually, I stole this line from Sam Kinison when he was on the topic of wife beating]. |
is this referring to the fact that now when I try tread one of these forums everything keeps jumping while it's loading all the junk? I thought I was just having issues. when I first open a forum the post keeps moving down the screen until all the adds finish loading, seems like it started fairly recently.
|
I'm use to it these days I have 50 MB speed so the ads load fast. I just have more width added in the page so the ads shoot well off to the side. Whatever it takes to keep the site running and all the data preserved is the least I can hope for.
|
I don't know, the advertisements just don't bother me.
|
The column with ads on one side is fairly easy to ignore, but the ones that show up between and now even inside a post are a pain to me...
|
Just pretend you have been enjoying 1/2A size planes all your life and yesterday you found this cool site that has tons of 1/2A related posts, pics and video.
No one likes change as luck would have it some things stay the same. |
I mostly use a tablet (iPad) - For these, the Ads take up about 25% of the screen width. Where the Ad is in the first post, there is only room for about 4 words per line!!!

Yea screen size can be an issue if not in mobile view or less than a 10" tablet. I too prefer traditional web view on my mobile phone and tablet with the font size reduced during the overview then expand as needed.
|
I don't mind change if it is functional.
This new format runs my machine at 100% capacity and it runs slow on my wife's computer as well. RCU has always been Glitch Prone, but this is different because this is by design. They are banking on the hope that their subscribers are using powerful enough equipment to cope with the extra mumbo jumbo they have introduced here. |
I use a 2006 Dell XPS 400 has 4G of ram with 1G video card using cable internet
