Yeah, where are you man. I hear that things are getting pretty hairy in the South China Sea. Did you move?

I spoke to Japanman on here in 2015, chatting about tuned pipes and a boat project he did with a small pipe.

Thanks. I tried the link but RCU says "no matches" ??? A few weeks ago, I used the email address I had for him but got no replies. Hope he's OK.

Japanman, errr NZMan! I have enjoyed reading many of your threads! :o
Have you been messing with any 1/2A lately?

Japanman 04-27-2017 02:24 AM

I have not, but my younger son wanted to make a small sheet balsa Messerschmitt 109. He found some 3view drawings, and away he went.
I helped him mount the motor and lipo from a toy coaxial helicopter, and a home brew timer and 1" prop.
We had a great time flying it! Man I wish I had had some of the gear we have now when I was his age!

Japanman?

Hi Japanman, are you still around?

I found some very interesting post from you on an old thread talking about metered carbs and V-shaped twin reeds on Cox engines.. would love to know more about the subject!

Cheers

Andrea

Hi Andrea,
I saw your post- yes, the v reeds seem to work really well when made accurately. I find the engine starts easily, as well as runs well. They are challenging to make though! You have to get your head to work on the scale of the engine~ not as bad as working on an .020 though!
what would you like to know?
