Hey, what's the deal with the Cox surestarts? How can you buy them? I was searching around on the Estes site for spare .049 parts, and I came across their page for the sure start engine for 5 bucks deal.. But, no info on how to buy them. Anyone know?

Is it early may yet?

from another thread--(titled 'Cox Engines Discontinued?)

quote:

ORIGINAL: David Redden

Cox is very much alive and well. Here's what is going on.

Cox Hobbies is coming back to the hobby industry in a big way. At the recent Toledo show, we showed new ARF's, new electric planes and all will be available in early summer. Estes still owns Cox but Estes has turned Cox loose to make hard-core hobby products unlike anything you have ever seen from us before.

We will have a new Cox only website up in early May at www. cox models.com so check back there in a few weeks to see all our new products.

We still have a broad selection of .049 engines and I expect that the Sure Start Production engine will soon be back on sale at a great price as well.

Sorry for the confusion during this transition and thanks for your past and future support.

PS: 2005 is our 60th anniversary and Cox will be around for a long time to come.

end of paste..

I'm sure it won't be long now, it must be hard to pin down exact delivery times and what not, I'm sure even worse when having to deal with worldwide production etc.. Getting it all synked up for a big site facelift and new line releases has got to be challenging.
I'm just glad that cox is still around.

Fair enough, we deserved a little heat for not getting the website up sooner.

The new Cox website went live over the weekend at www.coxmodels.com but we were caught a little flat-footed when the first Cox Models ad hit the streets a few days sooner than expected so we had to go live with the website.

Be on the lookout for lots of changes as we are rapidly getting all the stuff up on the website as fast as we can. We are also finding things in the warehouse so be on the lookout for lots of great deals.

Speaking of which, the Surestart .049 Engine is on sale for $6.99.

Click on the "Specials" department on the left-hand side of the website.
