Off topic thread. Guitars! Crossroads in Chicago!
I just finished watching the Crossroads Guitar Festival that was held in Chicago this year. A real spectacle!
I do not play the guitar but love music and the talents that make them great. I have the DVD of the Crossroads Guitar festival that was held in Texas in 2004. I know that there are some musically inclined among the lot here and I hope all of you have seen this show. Robert |

Yep, saw it too. Great show. I especially enjoyed Derek Truks playing slide. I play a Standard Strat, Epiphone Wilshire reissue, and an Epiphone DR-100 (cheap acoustic I got started on).

The one that really impressed me was Tal Wilkenfeld - the 21 year old bass player for Jeff Beck. Amazing chops for that type of music and at that age. Yow.
Makes me want to dust off my ole Gibson 335 and Fender Deluxe Reverb and scare the heck out of our cats... :D EG |

Hmmm, I failed to mention that I saw this on My local PBS station. It's fund drive time again! That is when they bring out the big guns like Eric Clapton's Crossroads.
I checked and this show will be airing about 8 more times between now and through Dec. Great show showcasing many of the great talents who are still with us. Robert |

Is the latest show out on DVD yet? I have the earlier one and it's brilliant.
