i used tower only for the easy to search, pick your favorite hobby shop, have em get a m5 spinner nut, pitch the tiny nut and washer and stick one of these on there, they work great.

cncswiss-
That looks like it will work.
I'll have to order it myself as I have tried to get bits ordered through hobby shops here (the regular ones I deal with) and it's like pulling my own teeth:eek:
Others I have contacted simply don't care.
It would be easier face to face but that is not possible.

And there is no way in hell I'd ever trim down a prop, not that there is anything wrong with it, but I have no faith in them anyways, fully expecting one to let go at the hub and take an eye out!
It's strange, the older I get the more I don't trust things.
Especially things flopping around at 10,000 RPM!!!

Once again, really appreciate the knowledge here, woulda been stuffed otherwise. Thanks

Trimming diameter is perfectly safe and is not uncommon, assuming you trim each blade the same & balance afterwards of course.

How'd you see that?????? Been a more or less full time cycle commuter for 15 years now. Yeah, I got spandex.... :D

Krener, trimming the tips isn't a biggie. No harm no foul but you want to be sure to balance it after. And obviously to smoothen the cuts down nicely. Messin' with the hub is another story. I've done it but only on my oversized props used on the 1/2A Texaco engines where I know the revs are way down from the loading.

Ok, so to trim them I'd take my measurement from the centre of the hub 3.5" either way, trim off the remaining bit of prop, then finish the tips to the same profile as how they were originally??
