That looks like it will work. I'll have to order it myself as I have tried to get bits ordered through hobby shops here (the regular ones I deal with) and it's like pulling my own teeth:eek: Others I have contacted simply don't care. It would be easier face to face but that is not possible. And there is no way in hell I'd ever trim down a prop, not that there is anything wrong with it, but I have no faith in them anyways, fully expecting one to let go at the hub and take an eye out! It's strange, the older I get the more I don't trust things. Especially things flopping around at 10,000 RPM!!! Once again, really appreciate the knowledge here, woulda been stuffed otherwise. Thanks |

LoL, Yer Spandex is showing!:) (Mountain bike rider here) Krener, trimming the tips isn't a biggie. No harm no foul but you want to be sure to balance it after. And obviously to smoothen the cuts down nicely. Messin' with the hub is another story. I've done it but only on my oversized props used on the 1/2A Texaco engines where I know the revs are way down from the loading. |
RE: Prop mounting problem
Ok, so to trim them I'd take my measurement from the centre of the hub 3.5" either way, trim off the remaining bit of prop, then finish the tips to the same profile as how they were originally??
