true it could. Hell mine I only noticed cause I put them in a battery box and noticed they were a bit higher than normal, took em out to see if anything was under them(my box's generally have 4 screws holding them on thought I didn't tighten one all the way), and laid them on a perfectly flat table and saw the corners were raised off the tabletop.
After running them 10-15 cycles since that happened mine returned to normal size, and lay flat again.
