there are many, many stories like that in the ETO & MTO. most pilots had a mutual respect
for each other. there were a few exceptions tho as too be expected.

now in the CBI & PTO, that was a different story. most japs had no remorse. no compassion.
they would shoot pilots after bailing. they tortured them if captured. I remember the Canadian
Govermant recently appologized to the Japanese people for putting them in intermant camps
during WWII where they were treated with respect & dignity considering the circumstances.
Where Canada's appology from the Japanese for their treatment of our POW's?
