Would you be interested in another painting tutorial?
As the title suggests, only this time, it would be using the new water based paints. In Canada here (and in a few states) we have been forced to make the change to waterborne paints. I have invested in the PPG envirobase paint system now and am now spraying the waterborne base coat. Clear coats and primers are still solvent based and not much different from previous primers and clears, but are now VOC compliant.
I have a few jet builds for people that will be coming close to paint time soon, as well as my CAI Raptor which I want to refinish. If there is interest, I'll do a new tutorial involving the waterborne paints. Please understand that while some of the spraying principles always apply regardless of paints, the waterborne is a different animal than solvent base. However, I think it will be very beneficial to RC modeling as the film build, therefore the weight, is significantly less with waterborne than the solvent base. This also means that with less film build, you need less clear to level out masking lines.
I'm not a fan of waterborne yet, I miss my solvent based paints, but I have to change, I've been spraying the waterborne for a little while now and thought maybe a water borne tutorial might be of some value?
