depends on the conditions you run it, in the summer here our dirt turns to super fine bull dust and you need a thicker well oiled filter to stop it getting in (it's so fine it gets sucked straight thru an outerwears), my hpi filters only last a couple of tanks and need to be changed out and cleaned/oiled.
