Systems working at 2.4Ghz are usually spread spectrum technology. This is very different than the older analog systems we have used in the past. I don't know how much detail you want, but this stuff is very similar to cell telephones. The bottom line is that SS is digital and has a very high immunity to interfering signals. This is why SS radios don't have to be impounded or frequency cards used at club flying fields.
