Ok guys I am posting this in the beginners section because I hope some of you guys will learn from my mistakes!!!!!
I have been flying for almost two years now, like most people that are serious about the hobby I "had" eight planes from scale to aerobatic in my hanger, flew every Saturday and Sunday for 2 years and was progressing in my flying abilities. I was able (unfortunally bragged too!!) to say I have flown two years and have never crashed a plane, boy was this week a let down!!
"Stuff Happens"
Wednesday afternoon I was flying a friend of mines Telemaster, when I did a loop and the balsa around the wing bolts broke loose and the wing came off. Needless to say it all went to the ground, I chocked this up to "Stuff Happens"
"Dumb Mistake # 1"
Saturday morning I preflighted my GP Extra 300 as I always do, took off, made my downwind turn, but I made one fatal mistake I forgot to raise my transmitter antenna. It flew until about 300 yard out and went to the dirt!!!
"Dumb Mistake # 2"
Sunday afternoon I was flying my Pizazz. I was making a upwind run trying a knife edge, when I rolled out of the knife edge I rolled it inverted the pulled back on the stick "guess what" I put this one in the dirt. My mistake in this one I was trying a manuver that I was not very good at too low of an altitude to recover from a mistake. So stupidity and a good bit of arrogance cost me another good airplane.
So guys what I am telling you is just because you are flying pretty good and have all these nice airplanes, when you take this hobby for granted it will bite you in the butt and humble your arrogance/pocketbook very quickly!!!
Pay attention to all the details from preflight to post flight!!
Try all new manuvers at least two crashes high, when you are proficient then move down and show off!!
By the way any info on a N.I.B Pizazz would be appreciated
