RE: The CPA (Classic Pattern Association) and E-power
Bluntly put...
This thread you started poses no honest question. It is misleading. The true intent is to try to discredit the CPA to advance your own agenda. This is all it could be. You have publicly endeavored to perpetuate the idea that the CPA is only about competition. But you did this without even fact checking first. When asked, you ignore the question. You started the whole thing based on a false assumption, then ignored your CPA friends trying to tell you you don't need to splinter from it because the CPA does indeed back your motivation. It is not antithetical to the sport flyer. My comments above address this. You claim to be a CPA memeber, but you ignore your CPA brothers when they want to help your cause so you wouldn't splinter and cause this kaos. Your attack on the CPA is not just on the organization, but it's members as well. Ralph has pretty much backed out of it, but you continue it on. It's on your shoulders.
This thread is a straw man. You are building a false case against the CPA to try to tear it down. The issues addressed about what constitutes a true classic pattern plane, and E power, "Proper Genres", etc. have all been addressed before. As a matter of fact, a thread addressed this issue LONG before any of this, and the general consensus was alway that "Classic" was simply a term placed on designs 1996 and prior. It encapsulates that whole timeframe. I will find and post the thread if necessary.
Nitpicking the minor details without going to the source is the issue. It makes no sence when you had everything you needed within the CPA.
If the problem was that you simply don't like the CPA, this is your fault for not taking an honest approach. To to claim it is something it isn't, attacks every member of it.

I still have hope this can be fixed, Paul... As it IS something that needs to be fixed.
This isn't about bickering. It is about a lack of honesty in intent. It is about going on the attack without just cause.
