why do you think so ?
You need a return path for the current. Current flows through the center pin on the adapter to the center pin on the glow plug, though the element in the glow plug to the outside of the glow plug and then to the body of the engine. You need a path back to the other side if the battery in the ignitor.
There was another thread on here where someone could not figure out why theirs wasn't working. They did not have the return wire.
That one is kind of a helicopter specific one. It is made to bolt to the engine on a heli, so the "tab" that the faux glow-plug is attached to is your return path for the current to go through.
