hydraulic brakes are nice to have , but since doing a mod on the existing brakes i have had no reason to buy hydraulic brake set up . i just got some old car bakes cut off the brake pad material super glued it to the steel where the old original hpi pad was then sanded it down to size drilled out the two little holes and hey presto , the new pads have lasted me 2 years and are still braking strong it stops dead smack to the point of skiding , think i would need a abs system on my radio
The problem is with stock style brakes on the HPI Baja is if one of the rear wheels is off the ground even just a little do to the differential you loose braking and or handling. Not like you have a brake on each wheel. This is why front brakes help out a lot! I have up graded my rear brakes where they stop GREAT as long as one wheel does not come off the ground.
