If you make friends with a few people at the club, they may point you to some good deals on a plane like a Champ or Super Cub. For example, my area has two big swap meets that don't get much publicity outside of the clubs. Prices are usually pretty good there, less than 1/2 of retail most of the time for pristine stuff. Maybe there is a local message board or ads in the club newsletters in your area for used items.
