This kind of question can start Brand Wars where various proponents of one brand or another tout their product of choice. Go to your Local Hobby Shop (LHS), Local Flying Field, or to an RC Trade Show and compare the Look and Feel, Price vs Performance (Highlighted by Zor).
My logic tells me that performance cannot be evaluated until one has used the unit for a while.
Quite obviously each user has his/her preferences which are often not explained or justified.
We already see the trend of boosting some specific brand in this thread as someone has already mentioned.
Look at the features you would wish to have. Perfomance will be there if the unit is from a reliable manufacturer as listed already.
