Maybe you could tell how GPS controls the airplane. I don't know it works.

Some of you probably have heard this one before....
I haven't seen that explanation in years. Back in the '70s I flew the LTV A-7D, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTV_A-7_Corsair_II . This was before GPS and the plane used an inertial guidance system. I was always amused when this explanation was given to help us understand how it worked.
