Default RE: Me Old Futaba T6XA

ORIGINAL: Elwood

I have a T6XAs, haven't used it in 7 years. Just when I put it and the hobby aside, it may have been causing interference with other receivers. It may also need a new battery. It works, but I don't trust NiCd batteries this old with something like a plane. Giving it a tune up and new battery may take more $ then it is worth. So a new radio may be on order soon...

Now I come back and there is a lot of talk about 2.4 GHz, and Spread Spectrum.

Whats the deal?

What should I be looking at for a nice 6 channel setup?

Thanks!

P.S. - My first post in some years, but I was member #505 or so back when this place first started. Nice to be back.
My first computer radio was a T6XA. I had two of them, on 72Mhz. The T6XAS added Expo and Rudder D/R. Batteries are cheap, now. You can probably get a 2500mah Eneloop Tx battery for $30.

The Spektrum DX7S is a nice low cost radio with Telemetry. There are other offerings from Futaba, Hitec, and Airtronics, to name a few. There are even cheaper radios from Hobby Kiing, but less history regarding how reliable they are.
