Going to the 2.4GHz band isn't just about frequency issues, it's about control response from the model which is MUCH faster than your old system. If you like your current radio, perhaps looking into a new Futaba 2.4GHz 7C radio would be the best option? It's got some features your current radio doesn't have like support for dual elevator servos as well as being faster.
