Most TM's balance right at the rear of the cabanes on the top wing.
From your flight report she sure sounds like a true TM. On take off you just can't go WOT all at once. You need to be very smooth and fluid like.
I do love the way they knife edge. And with all that rudder you can get them to flatspin.
