Default RE: F-86 Skymaster - RC installation??

Hello everyone,

I found an interesting fact re. drop tanks:
Itseems that the restored Golden Hawks airplane has the tanks in a different position than the old ones had. Way more inboard, right next to the landing gear.
Check out these pictures. The first are of "Hawk One", the restored airplane. Next, the close-ups of the worn airplane I took myself in Canada. This is an original(one of the many) Golden Hawks Airplane sitting on a pylon somewhere in Ontario. And the last one is an old picture of the original Golden Hawks.

Now, what to do? I think, more outboard looks better. But Iam building Hawk One - so I will have to go inboard, right up to the landing gear, right?
And another obvious question is: Why? Why did they do that? Why would they change hard points, fixtures and so on? Must find out from Mary at HawkOne....
