Everyone has their own style and technique.. there is no right and wrong..
The drawing out of the panel lines can be a bit of work, i do think it really makes the difference. I don't get to worried about if they are all exactly right
I have some plastic tracing sheets I bought at a art store, I don't know the correct name for them... I think they are for architecture drawing, they have different sizes of squares,circles, and other shapes. It makes it much easier to do rounded corners and access panels. ..but heck, you only see them on the ground up close..not when it flies by.
