Check out a lot of suppliers, DON'T believe the ones that show a jet, or a low-wing airplane, and call it a trainer! High-Wing airplanes, while a little low on the "cool-looking-factor" are the best to learn on. A GWS Slo-Stik is probably the cheapest airplane to start with, easy to build, easy to fly.
Hobbyking sells a good 6channel radio forabout 33.00 from their usa warehouse, hobbypartz sells the same radio for 32 or 33 bucks.
