before Tom got into RC he was a scale model builder he won a bunch of awards with his plastic models, I learned a ton from his building techniques and his scale detailing, I don't have the patience to do much of the stuff he does but I have cherry picked a bunch of the little stuff, glassing a model using water based polyurethane would have never crossed my mind until I read the Dauntless thread
a couple of examples of planes glassed this way got all my stencils for the emblems from
www.getstencils.com they do a great job of making paint masks, I just sent them my sticker sheets and they made up the masks for me
