If its remote controlled, i would simply put a really long cord on it and run a extention cord off the wall outlet and connect the two OUTSIDE the wall, this way, even if you loose power, you can run a generator or even a car power inverter.
SIMPLE, and to protect it from vandalism, just screw in a metal sheild over it.
