RE: ESM Sea Fury 80' - Build log
Regarding my engine selection i am beginning to lean towards a Laser 300v or 360v. The reason for this is having looked at that review from troy built models the area for cooling air to escape looks very small. also if i fill that area with hot exhuasts then i dont think the engine will stay happy for long.i alsodont fancy is having to clean the entire model as the radial is pretty oily and moving the firewall aft will be a pain in the backside. The Laser engines on the other hand a 10mm shorted than needed so a few layers of ply will have it perfect. i also have total confidence in the reliablity of the Laser engines but dont in the radial due to past experience.
If i do go the laser route i cant decide if i should use the 300v (which pulls my 80'' ESM La7 brilliantly) or go mad and put a big 24x8 prop on it and storm about at very low rpm on the long stroke 360v.
hmmmm
