OS recommends a starter in their instructions, but don't misconstrue the starter comment...It doesn't absolutely have to have one to get going. I start it by hand often, but I use the starter to get going quickly...
Nevertheless, the engine is not as simple to start by hand as my SAP180HP or my DLE's are, at least not yet
