Default RE: 6 volt battery for rx of xp6102?

ORIGINAL: MattCurtis

Is it okay to use a 5 cell 6 volt battery for the reciever on a xp6102 radio that is 72 mgz? I believe it came with a 4 cell 4.8 volt battery. the specs on the receiver talk about 4.8 volts but the manual does not mention using a 6 volt battery. I believe this radio was manufactured before 2.4 radios were being built.
I would call Horizon to be sure unless someone else here has used that Rx with 6v. Even if that Rx will work with 6v, be sure the servos you use can handle 6v. There are some that do not.
