FT6 - you said that you need a miter box. The slot of plastic ones will "open up" after use - no longer 90 degree cut. But then that's what a straight sanding bar is for. Just needs a little practice. Also, measure accurately and cut long. You can use the sanding bar to refine the fit especially when the angle is not 90 degrees - like where the stab and fin supports meet their respective leading edges. Trial and error until it right.
