Thanks guys,
This is my first real scale project, and I have done some mistakes along the way... But this is an old russian workhorse, so I have told myself each time I have discovered small (and some not so small..) mistakes, that it is probably more scale than "picture perfect". Many repairs and maintainance on the full size, were done in a "hurry" and/or at remote places with less than perfect conditions. With that in mind, I am quite happy.
The russian stars on my Mig, are maskings (Tailormadedecals.com). I used rattle cans, with ok result...nothing more
All the writing/lettering/warnings and stuff (Tailormadedecals.com), are rub on type. First time I ever used them, and I was very pleased with the result. Just don´t rub too hard, or you will deform the area you are working on[X(] I don´t know a word in russian, so I just put them on where they looked "ok". That might bring out laughter for someone able to read russian
The weathering was done copying what I found in another rcu mig thread... Oil paint (black/brown/white) mixed with linseed oil. Very nice to work with, but takes forever to dry...
