No, I also had the short linkage (about three inches long). I had mounted the servo in the "tail brace" as it seemed like a solid point. I tend to believe what others had said here; the elevators are just prone to flutter due to their geometry. This Rare Bear gets a stronger servo, a Hitec HS-645MG. That and I will not be doing any full-throttle diving this time.

In the attached photo you can see where the servo was mounted. The brace was broken loose in the impact and thrown forward.
