I dont know if gel coat will hurt the abs or not,it comes in a plastic bucket, and i do not think the heat created by it kicking off would be that bad, of course I would try it on a sheet of abs first,Remember the whole idea behind making molds, was just so you would end up with something to work off, as abs is not it.on a glass hull you can fill and move the steps where ever you need them.plus with your mold you could lay up a heavy part to have a really good foundation to work with. or just use yours for reference and build one out of wood.
