Default RE: BME 116 how different than 115?

I was told by a chainsaw technician of 40 years that our 2 stroke engines can not benefit from the high octane fuels like cam 2 and avgas. He said something about the flash point of the high octane can not be reached in such a small combustion chamber of our little 2 stroke engines and that is was just a waste of money. He told me if I need more power I need to get a bigger engine.
