There's one little detail on several designs like this that I've never been able to do.....the elevator joiner with just a section of dowel.
After having that little detail snap in flight on my .25 size Miss Los Angeles I made a new one out of ply and then wrapped it with carbon tow. It seems fine now.
Yep, anything you can do to add torsional strength in that spot. Figure that the elevator push rod can only directly drive the elevator half that it is connected to and then you place all your faith in a short hunk of 1/8" dowel to take care of the other half with no other support..?
Even if it doesn't fail, there is a good chance that both elevator halves wont deflect evenly when the plane is thrashing around at flying speed.
