I think I'll order these EyeTop monocular HUD/LCD glasses and try them with the system. Some of the helicopter pilots use them to keep an eye on their copter while being able to view FPV through the lense. There's also the new MOVERIO HUD glasses that just came out. These allow the OSD information to be superimposed over the glass lenses along with video. You can see out and adjust the overlay.

I don't like full immersion as I think you need to see your tank in real view along with the FPV.

There's going to be some really intereting technology coming out in the next several years (don't forget Gooogle Glass*).
