RE: Bridi XLT Build
Hey Pete, I have many things going on so will be slow in my response back. You asked about the inverted engine? I suppose I need to say that I managed to talk my old flying buddy in N.C. into making me a fuse that he did. He got tired of the balsa one coming out way heavy, so he did it up in fiberglass. The front end was made to accommadate an inverted YS .91. With that in mind, I had to do some thinking on how to fit my 15cc gas engine into it. As it turned out, it fit perfect. As for the landing gear, I first has some other 2 piece carbon fiber gear installed through slits in the sides of the fuse which looked great. Only after I got everything installed, covered and painted, the gear was so springy and thin that I pulled them out and found the one piece carbon gear you see now. I had to cut out the whole bottom to install, but hey, you don't see it while it's in the air or sitting on the ground, unless inverted. I have not flown it yet, but plan on it in the next week or two. The weather has been crappy here. Oh, as for weight, even with a gas engine, it weighs in at 8.2 pounds. I was hoping for 7 1/2, but still happy with that. Ask questions, as I be glad to answer and help. Later...Dennis
