RE: Marz 2.5 Diesel opinions?
Hi All:
After eight hours of Hell. I gave up on getting the Marz to run.
I heated the cylinder and got the contra piston removed. Cleaned the contra and cylinder and got the contra to move via the adjusting screw.
Now to the piston and sleeve. This fit was so tight that I could not turn the crankshaft past TDC without a good chance of breaking something. I lapped the p&c where the engine could be turned over by hand. I went to test stand but thought the it was still too tight to run in well. The pinch at the top was very severe.
I lapped the p&c a bit more and left a pinch at the top of the stroke thinking that it would break in with a super seal. To my horror, it did not run but still with the tight pinch at the top of the stroke, I had no compression! No, there are no leaks in the engine. On the bright side, the contra workss very well!! Lol
I tried to mix and match another p&c but the same thing, Tight pinch at TDC but no compression.

Despite the fact that the Marz was free, I still paid a hefty price attempting to get it running! Lol
Lesson finally learned! No more cheap Diesel engines for me!
