Rustoleum needs to sit for around a week, before adding a second color.

Automotive primers, such as Duplicolor work well under Rustoleum, but the paint, itself take "forever" to dry.

My guess is that the paint felt dry to the touch, but was not completely set up.

I am in full agreement with using the 3M fine line tape. It provides crisp lines when masking, and the 1/8" goes around corners well. I use similar masking procedures as Square Nozzle. Gene's results look great, using the Scotch green, but I have not been able to achieve the same results.

I pull my tape as soon as the paint starts to set, usually within a couple hours of spraying.

Rustoleum is a viable coating for our models. It cannot be rushed, however. It needs to be thoroughly set up before masking additional colors.

The models below, are all painted with Rustoleum.
