Default New 3D training - "Modeling with MODO, Volume Six" available now.

Hi everybody,

For those of you who use MODO, or are considering it, check out my training series, “Modeling with MODO”, volumes one through six, at http://www.mikejamesmedia.com

I’ve used “MODO” for all of my 3D work since 2008, and it’s become more and more powerful, since Luxology’s merger with The Foundry. ( http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/modo/ ) Now, these powerful modeling tools around are becoming more integrated with all the other Foundry products, making it even more suitable for high-end motion picture projects.

MODO is a polygonal modeler, using both hard polygons and Catmull-Clark subdivision surfaces, and with the addition of some very powerful plug-ins, we can export to NURBS, in IGES, SAT, and 3DM formats. That’s enabled me to do very fast conceptual work in polygon form, then export parts for fabrication to Solidworks users, for example. (and STL, for stereolithography - “3D printing”)

(No, I don’t work for The Foundry… Just a big fan of the tools.) Check out the free trial available at http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/modo/
