All credit cards now offer purchase protection etc same as paypal when you buy things from North America

I don't know how many of you know but paypal is expensive to a vendor. Thing is, the payment part of any business is more dictated by comfort,convenience and security than anything else.
So I am asking you guys for your opinions. Is using paypal important or do you prefer credit cards?
I am quite sure that vendors figure into their pricing credit card expenses or PayPal expenses. Many vendors these days state right up front an extra 3% for credit card purchases. I have yet to hear any vendors crying over their credit card or PayPal sales. Yes, I will use PayPal for just about every purchase I make, thus you can say, it is important to me !
