Default 1:16th scale Russian Antonov An-225 "Mirya" edf....

We got a surprise of a lifetime on early morning of 17th November 2014 when first time ever Antonov AN-225 touched down at Lester B Pearson International Airport at 6:45 AM during mild snowfall and temps were down to -5C with windchill of -10C!. I had been waiting for last 20 years to see this Goliath on 1 to 1 bases and my ultimate dream came true. It left Toronto today after 7.5 hrs delayed departure!. I went out with 200 others on Monday morning to welcome it into Toronto by taking its pictures, then today went again to see her off and see this Goliath take off!, I have to tell you, this is one fantastic and amazing aircraft!. Everything about it colossal in size, 6 high bass turbo fans produce more then 300,000 lbs of thrust!!!. Loved the way nose opens up, both nose gears tilt forward on massive screw jacks kneeling the fuselage down on two huge fuselage stands before huge loading/unloading ramp opens up!, sights to be hold of!!!!

I got some of the main specs of this model at 1:16th scale...

Length: 17.187 Feet
Wingspan : 18.125 Feet
Height: 3.7 Feet
Cabin width: 1.31 Feet
Cabin height: 0.9 Feet
Power: 6 x 125mm Edfs
RTF Weight: 45 lbs estimated.

Engine nacelle specs

Length: 5.4 m (212.6 in)

Width: 2.93 m (115.6 in)
Height: 2.79 m (109.9 in)
Fan diameter: 2.33 m (91.73 in)
Dry weight: 4,100 kg (9,039 lb)

Is there anyone else on here who have attempted to scratch build a huge model of the Goliath powered by 6 Edfs?, would like to see how you designed it and materials you used to built it......

First ever landing in CYYZ!!

First ever takeoff of this Goliath from CYYZ on 19th Nov 2014 at 2pm!
