kc7til, have you read through the other Dauntless thread? There is a lot of good info about set ups, detailing and lots of other worth while information and pictures. As far as the Dumas kit, poor wood and instructions is par for the course. I've never had a Dumas kit with wood that was really that good. I've built three Dumas hydroplanes, two more waiting in the wings, and all had/have poor instructions. IF I were to build one, I'd relegate the mahogany framing to template use and build out of good quality birch plywood rather than struggle through with the cheap door skin.
