The Trumpeter front plate is very close; it is maybe one piece of 1mm plastic strip on each side to make it fit? I looked at the way Tamiya did their upper hull and the front side plates or the way the fenders are molded on may be the actual difference? The Trumpeter front plate fits inside the lower hull which is more scale so that could be where Tamiya fudged their front plate? I think the Trumpeter tread plate is more accurate based on photos I have seen of the real thing, but that dose not mean they didn't change it as they made the real ones. Did you see the crown nuts on the bottom of the fenders? The detail is crazy!!! Have you started cutting your Tamiya up yet?
